Important course requirements

If you have held a forklift license before, but failed to renew your SafeWork High Risk License, you are eligible to apply for this course. You will need to provide evidence that you previously held a forklift license.

Enrolment requirements

  • Previous experience — Have you operated a forklift in the workplace recently under supervision of a licensed person. Are you be able to provide evidence of your forklift operating experience?

  • Understand and speak the English language. You will have to complete a basic literacy and numeracy test on the day.

  • 100 points identification and USI — demonstrate proof that you have a current NSW address. You also need a Unique Student Identification Number (USI)

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Important steps to attain your Forklift Operator License

  • Prior to attending the course, you must complete and deliver all of the study material that you will receive when you enrol.

  • You are also required to view our online training video about site and vehicle inspections.

  • Arrive on time at the nominated assessment site. Failure to do so will exclude you from the course.

  • You will need to demonstrate your forklift operating ability by conducting lifts into pallet racking to be signed off by our accredited trainer as being competent. You will then proceed to undertake a SafeWork NSW Exam delivered by a SafeWork Accredited Assessor.

  • If your require further training or are unsuccessful in your SafeWork Assessment you can attend our two day course at additional cost

  • Costs includes all texts and assessment material.

    Following costs are per applicant.

    In-house course fee on your site:  From $550.00 depending on numbers and location.

    Course fee on our site (weekdays): From $575.00

    Weekend courses: From $600.00

    Verbal assessment fee: $70.00

    Reassessment fee: $250.00

    Licence processing fees: Separate SafeWork charge for processing and issuing the licence is paid at your local post office.

    We offer flexible courses during the week or on weekends. We can organise a specific on site training for employers with minimum numbers.

  • You will receive training material which you will need to study before attending the 1-day course.

    It is important to study this material before the course because you will tested on knowledge that you will learn from the course material.

  • This one-day forklift licence course can be completed in one day that is split into two parts:

    1. Morning: You will be tested on your knowledge, and you need to pass all the training and formative assessments.

    2. Afternoon: If successful in the training and assessment session, you will proceed to your WorkCover test assessment.with the Safework (formerly WorkCover).

  • You will need to study all the pre-course training materials before attending your one-day course. This material includes information about theory and calculation which will be part of the test.

    You will receive the pre-course training material after you enrol in the 1-day course. This material is fully illustrated, with training content, self-assessment and pre-course questionnaires to help you check and monitor your progress.

    Failure to study this training material prior to your course may result in you not passing. If you do not pass, you have the option to enrol in our two-day Forklift Training Course, and additional costs will apply.

  • If you don’t pass your assessment test, you will not be able to complete the One-Day Forklift Training. You have the option to transfer to the 2-day Forklift Training Course.

    There will be an additional cost to do this 2-day course.

  • 100 Points of ID

    Appropriate footwear — fully enclosed shoes or boots.

  • The course starts at 7.00am on the scheduled day.
