Important: new application procedure in NSW
A licence to operate a forklift is a high-risk work licence. There’s a new quick and easy procedure for applying to get your HRW licence in NSW, and you will need an Assessment Enrolment Number before your course starts.
You can apply for our courses before you get your AEN. However, you will need your AEN when you attend the course.

The participant must have a good understanding of English, with excellent reading & writing skills and communication skills
Applicants need to be 18 years of age or older.
You are required to have 100 points identification, included in your Identification you require a current NSW address

Verbal assessment fee: $70.00
Reassessment fee: $250.00
Licence processing fees: Separate SafeWork charge for processing and issuing the licence is paid at your local post office.

Depending on a student’s experience, training programs are run over 2 days or 3 days.
Two-day course
The 2-day course is for people who have had experience in the workplace or have had an expired licence, conditions apply ring 0487781258 to enquire
In the 2-day course participants must complete a theory component prior to the assessment. This consists of participants receiving a forklift guide and assessment paper to be completed at each individual's own pace and does not require the participant to be at the forklift training location.
Three-day course
The 3-day course is for beginners who have had no experience with a forklift. The course is delivered in a classroom environment sourced by New England Training and Assessment.

100 Points of ID
Appropriate footwear — fully enclosed shoes or boots.
Payment for the balance of your course fee — either cash or EFTPOS payment.

New England Training and Assessment provides flexible format for learning with assessment activities that provide every opportunity for participants to demonstrate their skills and abilities. We can tailor the training and assessment program to assist people with learning issues.
We offer flexible courses during the week or on weekends. We can organise a specific on site training for employers with minimum numbers.

How to register for forklift operator training
All applicants need a USI — unique student number. If you do not have one, apply for your USI here.

Choose your training session from the option(s) below and pay your deposit to firm your place in the course. You wll complete an online form with your details, including your Assessment Enrolment Number from SafeWorkNSW.
On payment of your deposit, you will get you course material via a link that we email to you.
Important: You must register 3 days before your preferred training date to ensure your course placement is approved by our registered training organisation (RTO).
Enrolment steps
Select the training session you want to attend.
Click ‘Add to Cart’, then go to the cart, and click ‘Checkout’.
Read and check the Terms and Conditions, complete your personal details, including your Assessment Enrolment Number, and click ‘checkout’ to pay your deposit. *
After payment is made, you’ll then be taken to an ‘order confirmation’ page.
Download the digital download zip file to access the student documentation. This link expires after 24 hours. We recommend you download the files immediately after you get the link.
