Progress your career in the transport industry with your HC truck driver licence!
+ What vehicles can you drive with an HC licence?
You’ll be licensed to drive heavy vehicles up to and including:
- prime movers with an attached a single semi-trailer
- rigid motor vehicles attached to a trailer that has a gross vehicle mass greater than 9 tonnes.
+ Requirements
Upgrading to an HC licence requires you to:
- have held your MR/HR licence for a continuous period of 12 months.
- complete the heavy vehicle theory test with NSW Transport Roads and Maritime Service (RMS).
+ Course inclusions
Your HC training includes:
- Trailer reversing in a straight line, left and right directions
- Trailer uncoupling and re-coupling
- Care and maintenance of trailers
- Highway and city driving
- Load Restraint Training.
HC Unrestricted Truck Training Course
Recommended only if you have a MR/HR heavy vehicle licence.
Course duration: 7 hours with potential to complete within one day. Upon completion of your training you are required to complete a practical driving assessment with our RMS accredited HVCBA assessor.
How much does our HC Unrestricted Truck Driver Course cost?
Course fees: From Upon application for Armidale.
If you need additional training hours you can do this prior to the practical text for an extra cost. On completion of the course, you need to pass a practical driving test with our HVCBA assessor.
Our trainers are experienced and professional. You’ll be complete the course feeling confident and competent with a complete understanding of safety practices and procedures.
HC Auto/Synchro Truck Training Course
A comprehensive training option recommended for those who hold a MR or HR Condition B and want to learn and be assessed in an automatic.
After successful completion of the assessment tasks, you will be issued with a HC Condition B.
For participants who hold an Unrestricted HR Licence (Roadranger Competency) you can upgrade to an HC/MC in a truck with an automatic gearbox and retain you Open licence.
Course duration: 7 hours with option to do additional hours for an extra cost if required.
Can be conducted in one- or two-hour sessions.
